Description
In order to make it easier to hoist or lower drill pipes individually or the drill string as a whole, elevators were created for the drilling industry. They are hinged devices with handles that wrap around the tool joint of the drill pipe or casing (for collars).
Single joint (SJ) elevators are available from OCEANEX Services to handle a variety of tubular materials. SJ elevators are used to lift a single casing, tubing, or collared type pipe and add tubular to a string.
